Jocelyn Purdie

Jocelyn Purdie is an MA candidate in Art History at Queen’s University. Her research interest is in the area of contemporary visual art specifically focusing on artistic and curatorial practices that are deployed outside the gallery context, in less conventional public urban spaces. She is also a visual artist, independent curator of an alternative venue for contemporary art located in a neighbourhood in Kingston’s downtown core and the Managing Director of the Union Gallery at Queen’s University. She has been active in the arts community as a member of the Board of Directors of the Modern Fuel Artist Run Centre, founding member of the Organization of Kingston Women Artists, Advisory Board member of the Kingston School of Art and member of the Arts Advocacy committee of the Kingston Arts Council.
